PLANNING & PREPARATION (DOMAIN 1) – PRE OBSERVATION

 

1a-Knowledge of content and pedagogy C4:

Lesson plans reflect important concepts, plans accommodate prerequisite relationships among concepts, clear and accurate classroom explanations, answers student questions, feedback to students, interdisciplinary connections.

Ex. How does this lesson fit into the unit your are teaching?

• Wrapping up and evaluating student work on the chemical safety lab. Student self-evaluation of how well they worked together as a group.

• Introduction to the solar system (Inquiry 1.1) . Students answer questions and self-assess what they know about the solar system and what they would like to learn in this unit. This leads into the Sun-Earth-Moon unit and the larger unit on the solar system. Main ideas in the Sun-Earth-Moon unit are Scale, interactions, reason for seasons, moon phases, and solar and lunar eclipses.
